EGYPTIAN PLAQUE OF THOTH WITH HIEROGLYPHS OF TEHUTMES III

C. 1570-1293 BC Dynasty XVIII New Kingdom.
A beautiful deep blue glazed faience plaque of Thoth the baboon; a moon deity and god of wisdom; inventor of writing and scribe of the gods. The reverse depicts hieroglyphics to base (MEN KEPPER RA) for Tehutmes III.
Typical deep blue faience for New Kingdom period. Intact and an unusual piece with good detail and a vibrant colour.
