EGYPTIAN FAIENCE OPENWORK BES PLAQUE AMULET

C. 332-30 BC Ptolemaic Period
An interesting plaque of Bes; an ancient Egyptian deity worshipped as a protector of households; mothers and children and childbirth. Bes is wearing a feathered headdress with suspension loopholes in each corner.
Slightly pitted with earthy surface deposits otherwise intact and a nice example.
Ex English Deceased Estate.
