C. 17th Century

A decorative pair of brass candle snuffers with a rectangular box attached to the blades, which allow the cut ends to be caught and contained. One side is decorated with St Catherine of Alexandria, and the other with the bust of Albert Duke of Prussia. The handles which are hinged to form a scissor action, are also decorated with busts.

Intact and an very nice example with good detail.
