An interesting and finely carved steatite scarab with incised detail to back and hieroglyphs to base reading “Grant Memphis Forever”. Read by Carol Andrews.
The Nefer hieroglyph appearance is sometimes described as a stylized stomach and windpipe, although it is actually the heart and trachea. It symbolizes beauty and goodness.
Chip to base edge otherwise an interesting scarab amulet with fine carvings.
