British Neolithic Flint Axe Head

A flaked flint axe head with white patination and some iron staining. OS grid reference: 68486902 in black to one side.

In the Neolithic era, a variety of tools were made from stone such as axes, used to fell trees, and to shape timber for construction. This became one of great technological developments.

Found: Portland Bill, Dorset in 1977.

In good condition.
