Corinthian Terracotta Pointed Aryballos

C. 600-575 BC

A beautiful example of a Corinthian pointed aryballos with a single handle, tapered body and a small ring foot. The body and handle are decorated with alternating thin and thick red, brown and orange painted bands. The shoulders and foot are decorated with radiating petals and the upper face of rim is decorated with thin radiating bars.

Small chips to rim with some light earthy surface deposits otherwise intact with strong colour. Fine piece.
