Egyptian Bronze Figure of Osiris
Item Description
C. 600-300 BC – Late Period
An interesting Egyptian bronze statue of Osiris, god of agriculture and ruler of the dead, wearing an Atef-Crown (tall, white crown of Upper Egypt which has ostrich feathers either side) with a uraeus at the front. Figure is shown to be holding a flail and a crook.
Intact with some earthy surface deposits and good detail. A nice example with original base with label.
Provenance; Purchased from Blanchard’s, early 20th century. Original base with label.
