Egyptian Bronze Frog Weight

C. 1350 BC – New Kingdom Period. 18th Dynasty

An Egyptian bronze weight in the form of a frog, with bulbous eyes.

Small pit mark below one eye otherwise in very good condition with some light earthy surface deposits.

Provenance: Thomas Allworthy (died 1973) thence by decent to the last owner. Allworthy was a collector of antiquity who sold a small number of pieces oat Sotheby’s 19th May 1956.
