C. 664-30 BC – Late Period to Ptolemaic Period

A pale blue glazed faience amulet of Ibis crouching with beak supported by feather of Ma’at with suspension loop to back. Thoth was the deity of knowledge and writing, and was the recorder in the afterworld, when the heart was balanced against the feather of Ma’at, at the Weighing of the Heart.

Intact and in good condition with crude detail.

Provenance: Ex M. C. Collection, collected 1980’s-90’s.
