Egyptian Faience Shabti Of The Priest Semataui-Tefnakht
C. 380-343 BC – 30th Dynasty – Late Period
A nice turquoise glazed Shabti of the priest Semataui-tefnakht, who was the chief minister of Pharaoh Psamtik I. He has a long plaited beard and wears a tripartite wig, with arms folded holding a pick and hoe, with a seed bag over left shoulder.
There is a column of hieroglyphs running down the front of the body in a T-shaped inscription and continuing down the back pillar.
Intact with good clear detail to hieroglyphs.
Provenance: Ex J. Bird Collection, Ex A. Rezai, London, 2012.
