Egyptian Faience Sky Goddess Nut As Sow. Unusual Type
C. 1070-713 BC – Third Intermediate Period
A nice example of a blue glazed faience amulet of Nut with added fine linear black detail. The sky goddess Nut; mother of the stars; took the form of a sow who gave birth to the morning sun and stars.
Although chipped has strong colour and is complete with suspension loophole. Unusual type.
