Egyptian Glazed Steatite Scarab Amulet with Horus As Falcon

Item Description

C. 1390–1352 BC – New Kingdom Period

A steatite scarab amulet with detailed carvings of anatomical features, to the sides grooves, representing the legs of the beetle. It is also pierced longitudinally for suspension.

The engravings to base, featuring hieroglyphs of Horus as falcon wearing a crown. Below is a basket sign ‘nb’, meaning ‘Lord, and other various hieroglyphs.

Minor nick to base edge with nice hieroglyphs.
