Egyptian Wooden Painted Figure With Hieroglyphs To Skirt
C. 2100-1800 BC – Middle Kingdom
An interesting hand painted wooden carved figure, wearing a black cropped wig, white painted kilt, black facial features and a brown/red painted body. The front of the white kilt features a panel of hieroglyphs in black.
Although repaired and arms missing, it has nice detail with some hieroglyphs still visible.
Provenance: Ex Van Der Meulen Collection, Netherlands, 1970’s.
