Greek Decorated Terracotta Daunian Askos

C. 5th century BC

A nice example of a Daunian Askos with a short cylindrical spout and conjoined strap handle with a small tail at the base of the handle. The Aksos is beautifully decorated with red painted details of horizontal linear patterns and waves.

Crack to spout and small chips to rim otherwise good strong colour and nice detail.
