Large Ancient Greek Terracotta Attic Black-Figure Kylix. Nice Example
C. 5th-4th century BC
A fine example of a kylix, one of the most elegant forms of a wine drinking cup, which is decorated with three figures flanked by palmettes on both sides and black painted bands above and below. The base of the short foot on which it stands is decorated with a black band and a small black painted dot to the centre.
Chip to rim with some surface marks and some pitting to glaze otherwise intact with strong colour and fine detail. An excellent example.
