Large Decorated Pair of Roman Bronze Forceps. RARE EXAMPLE

C. 1st-2nd century AD
A very large, finely decorated pair of bronze forceps, with long, slightly expanding arms and serrated grips, indicating that it may have been used as medical instrument. It has a discoid top with volute or scrolled decoration below.
A very fine example with a smooth green patina and extremely rare to find of this size.
Provenance: O’Bee Collection, acquired in the 1980’s and believed to have been found in East Anglia. Published in Bennets R22-0106 page 232.
