Large Roman Blue Glass Unguentarium
C. 2nd century AD
A large translucent blue glass unguentarium with a wide rim and tall neck leading to a small bulbous body, with a beautiful silvery iridescence.
It was said that in ancient times; Unguntariums were used as tear-catchers for mourning loved ones.
Intact and in excellent condition with a nice iridescence.
Provenance: Property of a private collector aquired before 1975.
