Large Roman Glass Unguentarium With Iridescence

C. 1st-2nd century AD
A large translucent glass unguentarium featuring a piriform body, cylindrical neck, a small out-sprayed folded rim and a flat base, with a beautiful iridescence to surfaces. These would possibly have been used to contain various ointments, medicine, cosmetics or perfume.
Although has a crack to neck, it is intact with some earthy surface deposits. It has a beautiful iridescence to surfaces and is of a large size.
Provenance; Ex Cambridge Gentleman Collection, collected in the 1980’s-2000’s.
