Large Roman Silvered Bronze Patera
C. 1st-3rd century AD
A beautiful Roman silvered bronze patera decorated with a incised grooves below the rim and to handle. It has a deep bowl with concentric circles to base. The Patera was were used by Romans in religious ceremonies for offering food or wine to the gods.
Although it is cracked and perforated, with green surface deposits. It has good detail, is of a large size and is an excellent piece.
