C. 13th century

A gilded bronze rectangular buckle plate decorated with a lion passant looking backwards with incised detail and two rivet holes.

In good condition with good detail and a nice piece.

Provenance: Graham Slater collection, Cambridge, collected in the 1980’s-1990’s.
