Medieval Openwork Pewter Rattle Case Fragment
Item Description
C. 14th century
An openwork pewter rattle case fragment, decorated in a radiating pattern with beading. When intact would have contained two or three cockleshells, a small pebble or a little tin or brass rumbler-type bell which contained a loose metal pea.
Although a fragment and a little damaged, it is nicely decorated.
