Medieval Pewter Hawking Badge Fragment

Item Description

C. 15th century

A pewter fragment of a hawking badge, depicting a hawk perched on a gauntlet, tethered by the jesses (leather strap which is fastened round each leg of a hawk), and wound round the glove.

Although a fragment, it has fine detail.
