C. 1782-1570 BC – Middle Bronze Age / Second Intermediate Period
RARE terracotta Tell El-Yahudiyeh Ware single handle juglet characterized by the punctured design arranged in geometric patterns. The handle has a groove running down the centre.
These vases have the shape of a poppy flower seed pod. Some say these were to hold the poppy-seed oil that was used in medicine then and the only known pain-killer.
Small hole to body with some minor nicks to body otherwise good clear detail with some light earthy surface deposits, intact and RARE.
