Roman Bronze Crossbow Brooch
Item Description
C. 3rd-4th century AD
A nice example of a Roman bronze crossbow brooch with a high arched bow, with longitudinal arms with a dome-shaped knob protruding from both wings and head of the brooch. The arms also feature a single applied ring, that sits beneath each knob. The long, flat, rectangular foot is decorated with fine incised ring and dot decoration and original pin still intact.
One small knob missing its tip otherwise it has a nice green patina with good detail and complete with original pin.
