Roman Oil Lamp With Masked Actor’s Bust
Item Description
C. 1st-2nd century AD
A nice example of a Roman oil lamp decorated with a masked actor’s mask to central discus, within incised border of concentric circles. It has a pierced, loop handle to the back, and a rounded nozzle, which is separated from the discus by a horizontal line, flanked by two dots. The base is decorated with two incised concentric borders.
Minor nicks to surfaces otherwise intact with good detail.
