Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp Decorated With A Floral Motif
C. 3rd-5th century AD
A nice Roman oil lamp decorated with a floral motif to central discus with incised linear and ring and dot patterns to shoulders. The base is decorated with the letter ‘A’ and the single handle also decorated with linear patterns.
Small chip to handle otherwise intact with good clear detail.
Provenance: Ex Oxford Gentleman’s Collection, acquired over forty years.
