Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp of Diana
Item Description
C. 1st-3rd century AD
A Roman oil lamp depicting the goddess Diana holding bow, to central discus. Diana is goddess of hunting, daughter of Jupiter and the twin sister of the sun god, Apollo. The shoulders are decorated with stylised flowers and it has a single moulded handle with incised linear detail, and a heart shape nozzle to finish.
Intact with good detail and a nice example.
