Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp With Actors Masks
Item Description
C. 2nd-3rd century AD
A nice Roman oil lamp decorated with three theatrical masks to central discus, within a border of concentric circles. It has a pierced, loop handle to the back with incised linear patterns, and a rounded nozzle which is separated from the discus by a horizontal line.
Small nick to handle otherwise intact and in good condition.
Provenance: Ex private collection, East Anglia, UK. Acquired early to mid 20th century.
