C. 1st-3rd century AD

A Roman oil lamp decorated with a dancing female figure to central discus and geometric pattern to shoulders, with maker’s mark to base with the initials, “A o”.

Although cracked it has good detail and colour with some light earthy surface deposits.

Provenance: Ex Oxford Gentleman collection, collected in the 1980’s-90’s.
