Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp With Floral Motif & Maker’s Mark

C. 1st-2nd century AD
A nice example of a Roman oil lamp depicting a floral motif to central discus and volute motif to nozzle. The shoulders are decorated with ovolo patterns with maker’s mark to base which reads, “VOX”, and it has a short, rounded canal nozzle to finish.
Good condition with good strong colour and detail, and some light earthy surface deposits.
Provenance: Ex Oxford Gentleman collection, collected in the 1980’s-90’s.
