Item Description
C. 1st-2nd century AD
A nice example of a Roman oil lamp a shell to central discus and volute motif to nozzle, with ovolo pattern to shoulders. It has a short, rounded canal nozzle with maker’s to base inscribed with the letters: “O H”.
Small chip to base nozzle otherwise fine detail with some light earthy surface deposits.
Provenance: Ex Oxford Gentleman collection, collected in the 1980’s-90’s.
