Informal name of the fossil: Otodus obliquus

The Otodus was a giant ocean predators, with an estimated body length between 30 to 40 feet. Otodus teeth were long, tapered and triangular, which were ideal for puncturing fish, as the main tooth was flanked by two smaller structures called cusplets.

The Odotus is an extinct species of mackerel shark and based on evolutionary transitional evidence of their teeth, is thought to be one of the oldest ancestors of the megalodon shark.
