Very Large Egyptian Faience Amulet of Isis Nursing Horus

Item Description

C. 713-332 BC- Late Period

A beautiful blue glazed amulet of the goddess Isis, commonly associated with birth and creation. She is seated on a throne, nursing her son Horus who is seated on her lap, and propped up by her left hand. It is pierced through the back for suspension.

Although the crown is missing, it has clear detail with a nice green glaze and of a large size.

Provenance: Ex J. Waring Collection, collected in the 1980’s onwards.
