RARE Phoenician-Egyptian Steatite Bes Amulet With Phoenician Script

C, 3rd century BC
An interesting glazed steatite amulet of the Egyptian deity Bes, worshipped as a protector of households, mothers and children and childbirth. Bes later came to be regarded as the defender of everything good and the enemy of all that is bad. He wears a feathered headdress on his head with Phoenician script to base.
An interesting and very rare piece with fine incised detail.
