RARE Roman Bronze Zoomorphic Enamelled Frog Brooch
Item Description
C. 1st-3rd century AD
A rare Roman bronze zoomorphic brooch in the form of a frog, with a tapering body with two enamelled segments, and incised lines across the head.
In ancient Greece and in the Roman empire, brooches and fibulae would have been used to fasten garments, like togae or cloaks.
Pin is bent and tip is missing, otherwise the majority of enamel still remaining and is a nice example and RARE piece.
