Egyptian Faience Recumbent Lion Amulet

C. 664-30 BC – Late to Ptolemaic Period

An interesting green/blue glazed faience lion amulet of a recumbent lion, lying with both forepaws in front, and rests upon an integrated, rectangular base. It features a small face with incised detail and suspension loop hole atop the lions back.

Chips to suspension loop and base edges otherwise clear detail and a nice glaze.

Provenance: Ex J. Waring Collection, collected in the 1980’s onwards.
