Egyptian Alabaster Amulet of Horus As Falcon Wearing Double Crown

Item Description

C. 664-525 BC – 26th Dynasty –  Late Period

An interesting alabaster amulet of Hours as falcon, with wings tucked neatly against the body and seated on a rectangular plinth. He is depicted wearing a double crown, a royal crown that symbolizes the union of Lower and Upper Egypt. It has a loop at the back of the head for suspension.

Intact and in very good condition.

Provenance: Ex John Waring Collection, collected in the 1980’s onwards.
