Egyptian Faience Amulet Of Anubis. Excellent Condition

C. 332-30 BC – Ptolemaic Period

A nice example of a faience amulet of Anubis, the god of the dead and the process of embalming and associated with the afterlife.  Anubis stands on an oblong base, with arms by his side and left leg advanced.  He displays his characteristic jackal-form head, with pointed ears and snout. These funerary amulets were made in the form of gods and used to protect the mummies.

In excellent condition with good detail and a large size. Typical style for period.
