Item Description
C. 664–332 BC, Dynasty 26–30, Late Period
An Egyptian Lapis Lazuli scarab beetle with some incised detail and pierced longitudinally for suspension.
In ancient Egypt, the scarab beetle represented the sun god, Ra and was also a symbol of rebirth and regeneration.
Intact with slight earthy surface deposits and in good condition.
