C. 4th century BC

A nice terracotta Apulian Lekanis with twin handles and lid, finely decorated with palmette panels. It features a decorated knopped finial and a band of radiating bars to the rim of the lid.

Minor nick to handle edge and chip to rim lid otherwise a fine example with strong colour and good detail.

Provenance: Private UK Collection inherited from the vendors father.
