Fossil Crocodile Egg From France

Item Description

C. Eocene Period – 56-34 million years ago.

This is nice example of a crocodile egg in a limestone matrix. They would have been laid on the banks of a fresh water lake around 50 million years ago and the rock formation was exhumed from an old abandoned quarry. The crocodile egg could belong to one two species, Allognathosuchus sp or Pristichampus rollinati.

In good condition.
