C. 1782-1570 BC – Middle Bronze Age / Second Intermediate Period
RARE terracotta single handle jug with a decorated bulbous body and short neck.
These vases have the shape of a poppy flower seed pod. Some say these were to hold the poppy-seed oil that was used in medicine then and the only known pain-killer.
Chipped rim with earthy surface deposits otherwise a nice piece and intact. Stand not included.
